My Poorly Car......

As you probably read in my previous post that my 172 has been shipped off to Yozzasport for some TLC.

Well Andrew [Yoz] rang me today to come up and have a look at whats being done/doing etc. I met him at the workshop they used, I was very, impressed with the setup there. With a bevvy of sports cars being worked on, CNC machines, etc, my 172 is being taken care of! This is what my 172 needs done to be ship shape:-

1] Radiator mounts
2] Subframe mount
3] Cambelt, pretensioners, and aux
4] New CV gaitor
5] Aluminium 3mm CNC designed sump guard
6] New jubilee clips
7] Modified cold air intake pipe to fit onto my carbon fibre airbox
8] Full engine flush
9] New filter and performance oil
10] Spark plugs
11] New brake disks, pads, braided hoses, and fluid
12] Aircon ripped out
13] Cup Alternator, brackets, mounts, etc
14] Engine bay cleaned up
15] New exhaust fitted if it arrived!!!!

As you can see its a huge list. The car is going to be there for quite a while!

Its going to be worth while though because you need your car to be at least 110% before taking it on the track.

Here are some pics of my car in bits and the workshop:-

Yoz also took me to see the array of parts he has available - I could spend an absolute fortune! From carbon fibre brake ducts [like used on the Cup racers] to full SS exhaust systems - the 182 system is stunning, but I prefer the 172 system.

I would advise anyone to is wishing to do the same as me to pay Yozzasport a visit - they really do know their stuff as they developed all their own stuff, and is tried and tested.

He then showed me the beast. A stripped and track prepared throttle bodied 172 Cup badged as a 1.2!

It gave me loads of inspiration for me to apply some things to my 172. The completely stripped interior has given me the kick to do it myself. Its so much better than having a half stripped interior like mine. I love the carbon fibre panels. Yoz gave me loads of hints and tips - cheers!
