Yozzasport Exhaust Fitted.- Decals - Smoked Indicators

I managed to get a day off work today and get my Decatted Yozzasport Ragnotti Exhaust fitted at Yozzasport.

They fitted it perfectly, it doesnt knock, and best of all my 4k rattle/vibration has gone!

It sounds absolutely fantastic! It has made a huge difference to performance - it launches through the rev band with so much urgency! I need to get it on a RR to see what figures it produces.

Here are some Vids:-!!!!!!!

Wheels, Suspension, Induction, and Badges ... Whoa!

Well the car is back and I have had a little play with it - it is fantastic but it understeers slightly. This is due to the front being much lower than the rear and the appearance of positive camber in the front wheels. The adjustable Koni coilovers have a camber adjustment slide so I can temporarily solve this issue! I am also going to lower the rear slightly and raise the front my 20mm.

Adjusting Ride Height and Camber

REAR [lowers car by 5/10mm]

1] Unbolt the bottom damper bolts
2] Jack rear of car up [both sides] and place axle stands in place
3] Pull out springs
4] Unscrew and remove lower spring mount platforms
5] Put spring back in
6] Carefully lower car making sure the springs mate perfectly in place

FRONT

1] Jack up both sides
2] Remove wheels
3] Loosen the two hub/strut bolts
4] Adjust camber accordingly
5] Tighten bolts
6] Mark out current spring plate position
7] Using circlip tool turn the platform to adjust height
8] Once in postion lock the lower platform in place
9] Fit wheels
10] Lower and check ride height

It now sits more level than before, and is now high enough for me to get my ultra low jack under it!

Here are some pics:-

Upper Rear Strut Washers

Some washers were missed out of my suspension pack. So the weight of the suspension was trying to pull the rubber bush out of the rear strut. I have now fitted some new washers that do the job nicely!

Wheel Re - Refurb!

Due to me not putting on enough lacquer when I refurbed the rims before [see earlier post] some paint has chipped from removing the nuts. Whilst the wheels were off I decided to give them some more paint and lots of lacquer. They are much more smoother now and hard-wearing so should last longer! I also gave my bolts the black touch!

Here are some pics:-

Hillpower Bend Fitting

I finally fitted the hillpower bend. I doubt there will be much increase in engine performance - but tidies up the engine bay nicely.... No more electrical tape!

Some pics:-

Badges

The 172's badges were very worn - especially on the wheels, so I decided to give them a lick of paint. Not silver - but yellow!

Here are some pics - I havent fitted them on the car yet.

Yozzasport Exhaust

I finally picked up my Yozzasport exhaust inc decat!!!!

Its so light - I have picked up heavier sandwiches! The wields and build quality is far superior to anything I have seen before [Well I tell a lie - its about the same as the the Spoon N1 Exhaust I had for my CTR - and that was jaw droppingly good!

I have no pics of it yet, I will get some when its on the car.

It will be booked in for fitting in the week [fingers crossed]

Overall a very productive day!

The 172 Is Back From Yozza! Not Full Fat Anymore!

Andrew [Yozza] dropped the 172 off last after having its 2 week holiday at his workshop. I cannot take the smile off my face!

It is like having a different car delivered.

There has been extensive work carried out on it due to a surprising amount of things that were either broken or on its last legs. I wanted everything to be checked over and replaced if necessary as I want a reliable track car - if there is such a thing!

Yozzasport is like no other Motorsport Parts Retailer / Workshop Service company I have ever used. They contacted me everyday to give me a progress update, and always asked me my permission before carrying out any work or ordering parts. He also sent me pictures of the problems/things they had done. I know of no other garage that would do that without asking beforehand!

Yoz was very pleased with my little beast himself saying that it was a flying machine! [And he drives a stripped out, coilovered, throttle bodied Clio Cup himself! To demonstrate his enthusiasm for it he took me out in my newly renovated 172 on country roads local to him.... I havent really taken the 172 out in anger since I got it due to work being carried out so don't really know what it can do.... He totally shocked me at how fast a sorted coilovered, brake upgraded, stripped out, engine revamped, Clio 172 with new rubber and rims can be.... it was so so so fast I almost had a heart attack! Maybe some of that was due to the driver!

If you are thinking about having any work done on your Clio you would be a fool not to use someone who knows the ins and outs of your car - something Yozzasport done fantastically.

As stated extensive work was carried out.....here are some of the parts used:-

013501/Support Bracket Alternator Bracket
013501/Adjuster Bolt for Alternator Bracket
013501/Fanbelt
013501/Driveshaft Gaiter Kit

[I'm sure I missed something out!]

I know I have probably missed loads out but you get the point!!!

With all this done the 172 looks and more importantly feels alot tighter, and all the niggles have been ironed out! [fingers crossed!]

Yoz also found out that I had a newish Clio Cup gearbox installed - interesting!

There are a few things on the To Do List though!

1] Raise the front ride height
2] Take off the rear spring platform adjusters
3] Adjust the Xenon lights [pointing down]
4] Add more lacquer to the wheels for extra protection
5] Install my new red Hillpower air intake bend
6] Install Yozzasport Decatted exhaust system

I haven't taken any pics of the engine bay yet, but here is a video showing it as it is at the moment [The hillpower bend is not installed on this vid]:-

Note the lack of aircon!

Things are looking good!

172's Holiday in YozzaVille

It has been a while since I updated the Blog. The 172 is still at Yozzasport and has had a very productive stay. It has had a surprising amount of work done on it.

I will list exactly what it has had once I get her back.

I will hopefully get it back tomorrow once the last bit of work has been done - The engine mount.

Yozzasport has been fantastic throughout the project and has contacted me everyday to give me an update on what has been done - and what needs to be done!!!! They contacted me prior to any work completed or parts ordered - what a refreshing habit! Andrew [Yoz] also sent me pictures of each project/job completed!!! He also gave me a Clio Cup Radiator free of charge!!!

I wont go into detail on this post of what has been done - but I will post some pics that Yoz sent me:- [in no particular order]

I have also just received a Hillpower Bend which will fit nicely in between the throttle body and Carbon Fibre CDA Intake. This will make the air flow more efficiently from the filter to the TB.

I have also sold the Blueflame exhaust I bought for the 172, since my visit to Yozzasport. I fell in love with the construction of the Yozza Ragnotti Exhaust so I am swapping a set of Speedline Turini's for a full straight through Decatted example from a Cliosport.net member. I am picking it up next week. Here is a pic of it.

So much for a cheap track day project!!!! But I cant wait until I get it back!
