Track Day + Helmet
I needed a new helmet. I sold my Shoei Bike helmet due to it getting on a bit now. It was Type A approved, black with black visor - Stig style [old days!] I now need something that is FIA approved so got in contact with Gareth at Demon Tweeks who got me a great deal on a Sparco Full Face Rally Kevlar composite race helmet with tinted anti dazzle strip and matching case. It is flame resistant, Nomex lined and is FIA BS6658-85 AFR approved.
The good news is that I have finally booked a Track day at Barkston Heath in Grantham. I am looking forward to finally being able to see what it can do in its natural environment. I am going on the 19th of November. The setup consists of 2 x courses that will be setup in a sprint type of startup. The first course is smooth, the other is good for drifting.
I now need to get my tracking sorted after getting my ride height sorted - the steering wheel is not centre. This doesnt affect the ride, I can let go of the wheel and it will go dead straight - its just annoying me in that position.
Apart from that 'El Beast' is running fanastically, planted, fast, and loud!
I am however getting all the yellow bits sprayed in gunmetal - yellow is a bit too much in my opinion!
There is also a RR day with the MLOC on the 25th - I might pop along to see what she is pushing.
